Our portable layout may be seen at regional or local train shows or at the county fair.  It is 15 feet by 10 feet in size, composed of 7 modules, and represents railroading along the Colorado Front Range. The track plan below shows how the modules are arranged. The general specifications are summarized below also.
For those interested, we have an inventory of Locomotives, rolling stock and the buildings and other items comprising the layout.
And, one may click here to see a video of the layout on display.

The club layout is composed of 7 lightweight units, 30 by 60 inches, made of 1/2 inch birch plywood frames and 3/4 inch gatorboard panels.  The legs are removable for transport, and custom-built transport carts are used to move and store them.  A DCC system is used for power, with each unit connected into a complete wiring circuit.
When the modules are in their transport carts, they are 19", 28", and 35" high, and each is 32" wide by 66" long.

This view shows the mountain module on the end of the layout, and illustrates the clips which hold each unit to its neighbor.
