The Colorado Model Railroad Museum hosted the annual club picnic on July 24 at the Greeley Freight Station. Tables were set up next to the OC&E boxcar at the South end of the museum building, and there was plenty of good food and drink. The site was designed for train watching, and the UP was very cooperative in that regard.
The picnic was held in advance of the regular meeting time, and the meeting program was also provided by museum staff. Darrell Ellis gave a slide presentation covering the history of the museum from first breaking of ground to the present. This was especially relevant for the several spouses who came to the picnic.

Other News

There will be a general modelling contest at the November meeting, with 6 categories plus a Best-of-Show contest. There will be several categories. More details on this later, but the categories and rules may be found here.
The club has found a new Dispatch editor: Dave Zamzow. As indicated previously, expect the format to be changed, including having articles on our website server that are accessed by links in the newsletter, rather than inclusion in the Dispatch. Details are yet to be worked out.
Don't forget to check out our video list, and send your requests to the librarian in advance of the next meeting for pickup. This can be done by looking through the interactively searchable list on the website Video Library page.
