What's in Store for 2014

The Board of Directors and officers met on Saturday, January 4 to plan for the new year. Some of the new things in the new year are:
Meetings in Loveland will again be held in the Pulliam Building basement on Cleveland Ave. The basement room has been significantly remodelled and the venue is felt to be better (and less expensive) for our meetings than Dorothy's, where we have been meeting for the last year. See the 2014 Schedule Page for the dates when we will meet there.
Show and Tell for members has been popular and successful, and will continue to be held at most regular meetings. However, there will be a general modelling contest at the November meeting, with 6 categories plus a Best-of-Show contest. More details on this in this month's Dispatch, and the rules may be found here.
The club is still looking for a new Dispatch editor, but when one is found, expect the format to be changed, including having articles on our website server that are accessed by links in the newsletter, rather than inclusion in the Dispatch.
The Board has adopted a new policy on video rentals from the club library this year. Rentals will now be free of charge, but members are limited to 4 per month. As now, members need to indicate in advance of a meeting which videos they wish to borrow from the library. This can be done by looking through the interactively searchable list on the website Video Library page.

Modernize your Club Nametag

Members can convert their nametags from safety-pin style to a more convenient magnetic attachment. Buy upgrade material for $1.50, and make the modification yourself, or bring your nametag to a meeting and have it done free. Contact Roger Smith or Rich Wilson to arrange it either way.
