Design Benchwork Trackwork and Electronics Scenery

Layout Update!
Date: October 26, 2005

The new NCMRC layout has now entered the third phase of construction, the track laying phase. Art Mitchell is serving as the coordinator for this phase and has some very good ideas on how we can proceed with the construction in this phase, still being able to keep a heavy duty construction intact. Below are a few pictures showing how the trackwork will be setup at the joints of the tables.

The top picture illustrates how the track sections will be layed out over the table seams. The 'removable section' will be made of a hard wood material that will be the same rough dimensions as the roadbed. Holding the same dimensions as the road bed will enable us to place ballast over the wood and still give the appearance of a continuous run of the grade.

For more information on this section, click on the phase button on top of this page.
